Senior Roadway Design Project Manager

Our client, a respected regional engineering consulting firm with an employee-owned (ESOP) structure, is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Project Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects across Idaho and the surrounding region. This is a strategic leadership role with a clear path to advance into a State Lead or Department Manager position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage roadway design projects from planning through construction.
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Oversee design development, including horizontal and vertical alignments, intersections, and corridor improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ITD, AASHTO, and local standards.
  • Prepare and review PS&E packages, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to staff development.
  • Support business development through proposal writing and client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Idaho PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 10+ years of experience in roadway design and project management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ITD projects and regional transportation agencies preferred.
