Senior Superintendent - Commercial Construction (Projects up to $75M+)

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Area
Recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial construction firm in Texas

We are currently partnering with a well-established and highly respected commercial construction company to recruit an experienced Senior Superintendent. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing complex construction projects valued at up to $75 million and beyond. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, safety, quality, and profitability across multiple job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead all on-site construction activities across multiple projects.
  • Ensure alignment with project goals, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Foster coordination, accountability, and conflict resolution within field teams.

Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop and manage logic-based schedules using tools such as Primavera P6.
  • Train team members in scheduling best practices and apply LEAN principles.
  • Proactively identify and resolve constraints to maintain milestones and optimize productivity.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Champion a culture of safety in collaboration with risk and safety managers.
  • Conduct audits and ensure full compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.

Preconstruction & Estimating Support

  • Provide strategic input during preconstruction phases.
  • Assist in subcontractor buyout and self-perform strategy development.
  • Support estimating teams in building accurate preliminary budgets.

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Resolve quality control issues and enforce disciplined project controls.
  • Manage documentation with a strong understanding of construction documents and insurance requirements.

Client Relations & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Deliver proactive service and contribute to business development efforts.

Financial Performance & Controls

  • Drive financial performance through cost control and strategic decision-making.
  • Support dispute resolution and ensure accurate reporting to identify risks and opportunities.

Project Closeout

  • Lead efficient closeout processes, ensuring punch list completion, documentation, and final payments are achieved within targeted timelines.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a lead superintendent on medium to large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, lifting, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in varying site conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and fall protection gear.
  • Work schedule will vary based on project demands.
