Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Drive the technical development of highway design projects, clearly communicate the vision for deliverables, and ensure accuracy and quality throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Oversight & Management: Provide hands-on oversight of transportation planning and design projects, ensuring timelines, milestones, and quality standards are consistently met.

Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineers by offering technical guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth within the team and organization.

Design Development: Create and refine project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates to meet client and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration: Partner with Project Technical Leaders and Project Managers to deliver complex, high-impact projects tailored to client needs.

Compliance: Review and approve designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Sign and seal engineering documents as required.

Site Studies: Conduct site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location-specific requirements; update design criteria as needed.

Proposal Support: Collaborate with business development teams to prepare proposals in response to client RFPs, ensuring alignment with firm standards and regulatory guidelines.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience working with CTDOT, NHDOT, or municipalities preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
