My client, a fast-growing national engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to support a diverse client base and help expand their Water Resources Practice across Ohio. With offices across Ohio, they also welcome candidates interested in remote or hybrid work arrangements, particularly those based in Ohio.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of progressive experience, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering innovative water resources solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a dynamic and growing team.
💰 Salary Range: $91,000 - $140,000 (based on experience, certifications, and market standards)

Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and design for a variety of water resources and civil infrastructure projects:
- Stream and wetland restoration
- Dam remediation
- FEMA floodplain analyses and permitting (No-Rise, LOMR, CLOMR)
- Culvert and bridge replacement
- Stormwater planning and design
- Watershed studies and asset management
- Site/civil development and public utility design
- Programmatic engineering support
Manage projects from concept through final design, permitting, and construction support
Oversee scope, schedule, and budget to ensure high-quality deliverables
Interface with clients, stakeholders, and agencies to build strong relationships
Collaborate with internal teams (CAD, EITs, GIS) to develop comprehensive solutions
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering
- Ohio PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar software
- Strong hydrologic and hydraulic modeling skills (2D modeling preferred)
- Familiarity with GIS tools
- Knowledge of stormwater regulations (local, state, federal)
- Experience with ODOT standards and hydraulic pre-qualifications is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated client/project management experience highly preferred
