Senior Water Resources Engineer - Southeast Florida

A respected and forward-thinking environmental consulting and engineering firm based in Southwest Florida is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team. This is a high-impact leadership role for a licensed professional engineer with deep expertise in surface water and stormwater systems, and a passion for building resilient coastal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex water resources projects across Florida, with a focus on coastal resilience and stormwater systems.
  • Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including surface water and stormwater simulations.
  • Design and implement shoreline protection solutions to mitigate wave attack and hurricane impacts.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager, coordinating with clients, managing workloads, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Prepare technical reports, regulatory documentation, and permit applications.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Support business development efforts and help expand the firm's footprint across Florida.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on surface water and stormwater modeling.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Florida's environmental and permitting landscape.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and client communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Southeast Florida.
  • U.S. work authorization required - no visa sponsorship available.
