Solar Project Engineer
Position Overview
A leading electrical construction and design firm in the Greater Bay Area is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to assist the Project Manager and project team with the daily operations of construction projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Support project teams in managing day-to-day activities for electrical construction projects.
- Review project drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain submittals and submittal logs.
- Assist with creating and processing RFIs.
- Coordinate material procurement, including quantity take-offs, purchasing, and delivery tracking.
- Prepare pricing for change orders, including lump sum proposals and field work order tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design/build projects.
- Attend project and job site meetings as needed.
- Coordinate schedules with field teams, vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Communicate effectively with clients, interpreting needs and providing timely responses.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Adhere to company and job-site procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical construction as a Field Engineer or Estimator.
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with Accubid Trimble is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive positive outcomes.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
- Solid research and analytical skills; knowledge of inventory and supply management preferred.
Work Environment
- Position based in Santa Clara; remote work is not available.
- Work may occur in office settings or active job sites.
- Office work involves extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- Field work may require walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Noise levels vary from quiet (office) to high (job sites).
- Occasional travel to project locations or meetings may be required.
