Applications Engineer - Industrial Water/Wastewater
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
A leading provider of integrated environmental solutions is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to strengthen its technical team. This role focuses on designing and recommending complex treatment schemes for industrial water and wastewater applications across diverse sectors such as food & beverage, semiconductor, and heavy industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and process background, with expertise in membranes and a bonus for experience in thermal evaporation, concentration, and crystallization. This position involves working directly with customers and close collaboration with sales and engineering teams to develop proposals and support project execution.
Responsibilities
- Participate in virtual meetings with customers and occasional site visits to scope projects and ensure alignment.
- Develop detailed treatment schemes based on influent and effluent water quality data.
- Evaluate vendor technologies and recommend optimal solutions for complex industrial applications.
- Collaborate with sales engineers to create comprehensive proposals and technical documentation.
- Minimal travel minimal for local candidates, primarily for site visits and project walkdowns.
Qualifications
- 7-15+ years of experience in applications engineering within water/wastewater or industrial treatment.
- Strong mechanical and process engineering background; ability to make complex technical recommendations.
- Knowledge of membrane systems; experience with thermal evaporation, concentration, and crystallization is a plus.
- Familiarity with industrial sectors such as F&B, semiconductor, ultrapure water, and heavy manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills for virtual collaboration and vendor engagement.
