About the Role
LVI Associates is proud to partner with a nationally recognized architectural engineering firm in their search for a Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and advanced technology, while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the structural design and documentation process from concept through construction. You may also serve as a Discipline Team Leader, guiding internal teams and contributing to the firm's commitment to Design Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and code compliance research.
- Review construction documents and submittals during bidding and construction phases.
- Oversee and support structural team members to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with industry best practices.
- Develop and manage Discipline Work Plans and contribute to overall project planning.
- Represent the structural discipline in meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other discipline leaders to ensure integrated project delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering.
- Licensure: California-registered PE required; SE preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in structural engineering design.
- Preferred experience with California PreK-12 (DSA) and Healthcare (HCAI/OSHPD) projects.
- Experience with laboratory, life science, or mission critical projects is also valued.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong skills in ETABS, RAM, RISA, and other structural analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Ability to lead and mentor design teams.
- Skilled in project planning, delegation, and communication.
- Additional:
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and adaptable.
- LEED Accreditation preferred.
