Overview
A growing, multidisciplinary structural engineering firm is seeking a Design Engineer to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of building projects while developing technical expertise in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and institutional projects
- Collaborate with internal project teams under licensed engineers
- Assist in selecting structural systems and preparing construction details
- Develop calculations, specifications, and project documentation
- Coordinate work across architectural and engineering disciplines
- Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings)
- Conduct site visits and produce observation reports
- Contribute to large-scale projects and assist senior engineers
- Participate in client coordination and internal knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; pursuing PE licensure (PE ideal)
- ~4+ years of structural building design experience
- Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood systems
- Familiarity with building codes and structural standards
- Experience with tools such as structural analysis software and BIM platforms
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
