Subcontract Manager
Project Overview:
A major infrastructure joint venture has been awarded a multi-billion-dollar design-build contract to extend a metropolitan transit line. This initiative represents one of the largest civil construction efforts ever undertaken by the local transit authority. The project involves expanding the existing rail line from its current southern terminus to a new endpoint several miles further south. The role of Senior Subcontract Manager (Procurement/Contracts Manager) will focus on overseeing the commercial, administrative, and contractual elements of the design team within the joint venture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary legal and contractual advisor for the design team within the joint venture.
- Assist the Technical Manager in managing contract-related correspondence, claims, change orders, and invoice reviews.
- Support the administration of engineering services provided during construction, coordinating both with the design team and the client organization.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Advanced degree in law or civil engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in contract administration involving design teams and major subcontractors.
- Familiarity with design-build project delivery and technical aspects of large-scale infrastructure.
- Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership and communicate effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and understanding of broader business implications.
- Experience working on joint venture construction projects.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Valid driver's license.
