Substation Construction PM Ohio
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale substation, transmission, and distribution (T&D) projects from estimate handoff through financial closeout. This role is responsible for the full project lifecycle, including financial oversight, change management, invoicing, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility-scale electrical construction and a deep understanding of Ohio utility standards, field practices, and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage substation and T&D projects exceeding $50M in value
- Track project costs and ensure alignment with budget and forecast
- Monitor construction progress and adjust schedules as needed
- Provide consistent updates to stakeholders on strategy, progress, and risks
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Prepare and manage budgets and resource plans
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with utility standards and safety protocols
- Identify, document, and manage change orders through approval
- Submit accurate as-built documentation and support project closeout
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience in electrical construction)
- 5-8 years of project management experience in substation and/or T&D projects
- Proven track record managing full project lifecycles
- Familiarity with Ohio utility standards and field operations
- Strong financial acumen (P&L, forecasting, cost tracking)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools
- PMP certification is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
