Substation SE Structural Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Substation Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of structural components for high-voltage substations. This role involves working closely with civil, electrical, and project engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective structural solutions that meet utility standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze substation structures including steel frames, equipment supports, foundations, and control buildings.
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes (e.g., ASCE, AISC, IBC).
  • Conduct site assessments and support construction teams with technical guidance and field inspections.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with electrical and civil systems.
  • Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in substation or utility infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, RISA) and CAD tools.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
