Supply Side Energy Manager
Our client is a leading engineering & consulting firm that specializes in the design, integration, and commissioning of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. They are currently seeking a Supply Side Energy Manager to lead the development and execution of energy procurement strategies, through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and engagement with Independent Power Producers in the utility-scale space.
This is an incredibly opportunity for a business developer who can bridge the gap and speak the language at the intersection of utility-scale renewable energy/IPP space, and the data center/mission-critical space.
Key Functions & Ideal Skill sets Include:
- Lead business development efforts related to supply-side energy services, including renewable PPAs, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and energy hedging. (Proven track record negotiating or managing Power Purchase Agreements or related contracts.)
- Cultivate and manage relationships with energy buyers (end users), IPPs, utilities, etc.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies, energy risk management, and decarbonization pathways tied to supply-side solutions.
- Strong understanding of power markets (ISO/RTOs, capacity markets, LMPs, REC pricing) and the ability to translate this research/analysis to customers and stakeholders.
- Experience working in both the data center and utility-scale renewable space
- Ideally 5-8 years of professional experience across these core functions and industries
