Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Water Resources Director to lead and grow our water resources practice in Illinois. This is a strategic leadership role focused on technical excellence, project delivery, mentorship, and market growth. You'll work closely with high-performing teams to deliver flood mitigation, stormwater, and watershed planning projects while also playing a key role in client engagement and regional strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead water resources projects involving floodplain management, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and green infrastructure planning
Provide technical oversight, QA/QC, and serve as the lead on key regional and national efforts
Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team
Oversee or support modeling using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, XP-SWMM, and GIS-based tools
Collaborate with business and market leaders to expand our Illinois and Midwest presence
Manage or direct projects and support responses to RFQs and RFPs
Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted technical advisor
Stay current on regulatory changes, technical advancements, and industry best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred)
PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
At least 12 years of experience in water resources, stormwater, or flood control projects
Strong technical background in H&H modeling and infrastructure design
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex project delivery
Proven client management and business development experience
Leadership and mentoring experience preferred
