An established and reputable engineering consulting firm in Andover, Massachusetts is seeking a Traffic Engineer / Traffic Signal Designer with approximately 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering and design. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical design work and traffic analysis and wants to grow within a collaborative transportation-focused team.
What You'll Do
- Conduct traffic impact studies, corridor studies, and operational analyses
- Perform traffic signal warrant analyses
- Prepare traffic signal design plans, written specifications, and supporting documentation
- Complete traffic analysis using industry-standard methodologies
- Develop plans, reports, and technical deliverables in coordination with project managers and clients
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical input on transportation projects
- Apply MassDOT design guidelines and industry standards in all design tasks
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- E.I.T. / F.E. certification required; P.E. license preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering and traffic signal design
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with MassDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan development requirements
