Transportation Engineer
A leading regional consulting firm is seeking a Transportation Engineering Project Manager to spearhead growth in the Spokane market. This role will focus on expanding transportation services and managing the design of complex roadway and highway projects for public-sector clients. Work includes high-speed corridors, multi-lane systems, and bridge projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and grow transportation engineering services in the local market.
- Lead projects from planning through delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Oversee quality control and compliance for all project deliverables.
- Identify system deficiencies and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare plans, drawings, and models using industry-standard design tools.
- Ensure accuracy in calculations and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Produce technical documents including proposals, reports, and specifications.
- Coordinate with agencies, stakeholders, and community representatives.
- Manage alternative delivery and design-build projects.
- Drive client satisfaction and successful outcomes.
- Mentor and develop technical staff.
- Support business development and assist in securing new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- PE license or the ability to obtain required
- PMP certification a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in roadway/highway design for public agencies.
- 2+ years of project management experience leading teams and complex projects.
- Familiarity with state and federal roadway standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bentley design platforms.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license for occasional travel.
