Water/Storm/Sewer Senior Estimator
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join a growing team in Dallas, Texas, specializing in wet utilities including water, storm, and sewer systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction estimating, with a focus on underground utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for wet utility projects (water, storm, sewer).
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential project data.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities in the bidding process.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing.
- Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs to ensure a smooth transition to operations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in estimating wet utility projects.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (but not required).
