Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

Role Summary:

My client is seeking a skilled Wetland Specialist to join their environmental team. This role involves leading field assessments, preparing technical documentation, and supporting regulatory compliance for projects impacting wetlands, streams, and sensitive habitats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee wetland delineations and stream assessments in accordance with USACE, state, and local requirements.
  • Prepare wetland reports, maps, and impact assessments for permitting and project planning.
  • Support Section 404/401 permitting, buffer impact evaluations, and mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies including USACE, state environmental agencies, and local jurisdictions.
  • Perform and manage threatened and endangered species assessments and habitat evaluations.
  • Coordinate with U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, state wildlife agencies, and local authorities.
  • Support environmental reviews related to NEPA, redevelopment, and land disturbance permitting.
  • Manage subcontracted biological surveys when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in wetland delineation, ecological assessments, and permitting.
  • Strong knowledge of USACE regulations, Section 404/401 permitting, and NEPA compliance.
  • Ability to manage field teams and subcontractors effectively.
  • Excellent technical writing and GIS mapping skills.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PWS, CWB) are a plus.
