Job Summary: The AV Design Consultant utilises expertise in audiovisual technology to design, develop, and implement customised solutions for clients across various industries. They work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of audiovisual systems.
Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, objectives, and technical needs for audiovisual systems.
- Design Development: Create comprehensive AV system designs, including equipment selection, schematics, and specifications, considering functionality, aesthetics, and budget constraints.
- Project Management: Oversee the implementation process from concept to installation, coordinating with installation teams and contractors.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated with the latest audiovisual technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.
- Documentation: Prepare documentation including project proposals, design plans, and technical drawings for client review and approval.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in AV system design, integration, and installation.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
- Strong knowledge of audiovisual equipment, signal flow, control systems, and networking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Project management abilities to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in relevant audiovisual technologies (e.g., CTS, CTS-D).
- Experience with specific software or brands commonly used in the AV industry (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp).
Work Environment: AV Design Consultants may work for AV integration firms, technology companies, architectural design firms, or work as independent consultants, frequently requiring on-site visits, client meetings, and occasional travel.
