Our client, a leading audiovisual company in the USA, is seeking an experienced Remote Design Engineer to join their team. As a key member of this fast-paced and dynamic organization, you'll have the opportunity to design cutting-edge AV systems for DOD remotely.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience designing AV systems
- Strong knowledge of technology trends and advancements within the industry
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and develop system designs in pre-sales.
- Occasionally visit customer sites with account managers. (Upto 20%)
- Act as a technical expert for clients and support business development.
- Collaborate with sales and project management for accurate estimates and project planning.
- Create precise post-sales documentation.
- Proactively resolve project risks and challenges.
- Participate in team collaboration and process improvement.
- Stay updated on new technology and maintain manufacturer relationships.
- Communicate changes in project scope to management.
- Assist with final commissioning, testing, and training.
- Manage tasks and provide regular updates to management.
- Design solutions for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of audiovisual technology experience, including 2+ years in a design role, preferably in secure multi-domain solutions for the Federal sector.
- Strong technical proficiency in audiovisual equipment/systems, with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging with clients and partners professionally.
- Familiarity with IP networks, including network design principles, VLANs, subnets, routing, multicast, QoS, and PoE.
- Ability to liaise effectively with customer IT/security personnel on hardware/software configurations and network security.
- Proficient in technical writing and documentation.
- Preferred certifications: AVIXA CTS-D, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Cisco CCNA/CCENT, or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% on short notice, with flexibility in work hours.
- Ability to pass a background check and ideally obtain a DoD security clearance.
