Position: Business Development Executive
As a Business Development Executive on our dynamic team, you will lead and cultivate new business opportunities with government, education, and private sector clients. Leveraging our innovative and customer-focused brand across the Mid-Atlantic Region, you will play a key role in advancing projects from conception through implementation. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, owning, and executing a sales growth plan across multiple regional markets.
- Using Solution Sales methodology to qualify and disqualify complex sales opportunities for consistent, robust results.
- Driving sector-specific sales strategies that increase company revenue, branding, and impact.
- Acting as the direct client interface, leading meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Building relationships with potential partners, understanding their technical needs from executives to engineering staff.
- Coordinating internal engineering resources for sales recommendations, site audits, cost-savings calculations, and ROI analyses.
- Representing CEG at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Articulating the benefits of infrastructure modernization and energy-related approaches to drive savings and optimization.
- Employing a disciplined sales and market development process focused on financial drivers.
- Maintaining knowledge of emerging energy markets and public sector drivers (e.g., energy resilience, physical security, alternative financing, cybersecurity).
Location: This remote position can be based in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, or Pennsylvania, with consideration for candidate preferences.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of complex sales and/or business development experience in government, commercial and industrial (C&I), higher education, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven ability to build a partnership ecosystem for robust and sustainable customer acquisition.
- Consultative sales experience across a multi-state territory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with ROI-based financial transactions related to energy conservation, sustainability, or facility optimization programs.
You Possess:
- A passion for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and/or sustainability; experience with public-private partnerships is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in professional and public settings.
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
- US work authorization.
