Control Engineer
A well established, global supplier of capital equipment is seeking an electronic controls engineer to join
our team. Headquartered in one of the greatest mid size cities in America, Chattanooga, Tennessee, our

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Electronic Control Systems, the right candidate will
participate in the design, development, and maintenance of control systems for sophisticated floor
covering manufacturing equipment. This includes new product development, maximising customer
up time on existing installations, and targeted continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
Maintain existing field installations though troubleshooting and problem solving. Some travel
may be required
Specify, develop, and test new platforms of hardware and firmware to meet and exceed market
demands for speed and performance
Create and maintain contingency plans for electronic component product life cycles
Initiate and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Provide technical guidance and training to internal and external groups.
Maintain and improve personal and organisational technical competence
Required Skills
In depth understanding of closed loop control systems
Experience with real time embedded systems, servo controls, and servo mechanisms
Familiarity with rotational/linear sensors and actuators
Analyse requirements and specify appropriate solutions for actuators, controllers, and motors.
Proficient in applicable testing to verify servo system performance
Ability to communicate effectively at every level of the organisation
BS Mechatronics or BSEE with emphasis on control systems
PC fluency
Additional Valuable Skills
Experience with National Instruments LabView
Computer modelling of dynamic system performance
Control cabinet layout including wiring practices and thermal considerations
