Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our client's team as the Korea Country Manager, specializing in business development for solar projects. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Korean and possess a strong background in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar energy. The primary responsibilities include leading business development efforts, managing land acquisition processes, obtaining necessary permits, and overseeing project development activities.
Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar energy sector in Korea.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, local communities, landowners, and potential partners.
- Collaborate with the global business development team to align strategies and objectives.
Land Acquisition:
- Lead efforts to identify suitable land parcels for solar project development.
- Negotiate land acquisition agreements with landowners or relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and zoning requirements.
Permit Acquisition:
- Manage the permitting process for solar projects, including environmental assessments, land use permits, and other regulatory approvals.
- Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to expedite permit approvals.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Development:
- Oversee the development of solar projects from inception to commercial operation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes in the solar energy market.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven track record in business development within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar projects.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and permitting processes in Korea.
- Fluency in Korean and proficiency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as required.
