An industry leading hyperscale and wholesale data centre solutions firm is looking for Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) in Johor, Malaysia.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Generating sequence of operation and system architectures for onsite electrical/mechanical systems.
- Reviewing and updating onsite system architectures and as-built documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on all Mechanical/Electrical systems, offering technical proposals and recommendations, and ensuring systems operate as designed.
- Collaborating with project and onsite teams for system integrations and improvements, participating in commissioning activities, and ensuring seamless integration with current and new facilities.
- Occasionally liaising with overseas vendors for system-related tasks, technical discussions, and enhancements. Also, representing in client meetings as the mechanical/electrical system expert.
- Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards for Mechanical/Electrical systems. Recommending enhancements at the system level for issue prevention.
- Establishing standard maintenance procedures and checklists to ensure scalability and sustainability.
- Conducting hands-on operations and inspections on various critical facility systems and equipment in an operating critical environment.
- Ensuring the reliable performance of critical engineering systems and protecting the value of assets. Conducting hands-on operations, inspections, and troubleshooting before calling in vendor specialists.
- Executing operations with precision and accountability, reflecting a high standard of conduct befitting a highly critical environments.
- Taking the lead on assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring efficiency and minimal disruption to customers.
- Overseeing day-to-day maintenance and inspections of critical environment systems.
- Supervising and signing off on equipment/system maintenance conducted by vendors or OEM vendors.
- Processing Change Control Application for the safe operation, maintenance, and modification of critical equipment.
- Providing technical support onsite, guiding team members on fault analysis and new facilities testing.
- Offering on-the-job training and technical support to engineers and technicians.
- Monitoring critical spare parts inventory to ensure continuous operation.
- Ensuring compliance with customer service level agreements and responding promptly to incidents.
- Keeping track of work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance on critical systems.
- Implementing safe maintenance Change Control Application and work method statements.
- Conducting work in accordance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Implementing SOP and ERP, and demonstrating in-depth understanding of critical systems/facilities.
- Updating tools and supply inventories, preparing purchase-order requests, and sourcing stock materials.
- Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the critical environment.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure operations.
Requirements:
- Proficient in English for effective communication and documentation.
- Familiarity with laws governing building management and maintenance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with min. 5 years of relevant experience in Data Centre or Hi-tech environments.
- Technical expertise in critical data center systems, particularly mechanical or electrical systems.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, including CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Availability for off-hours technical support and onsite presence for incident support.
