Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Systems Engineer who will play a crucial role in driving our engineering and design capabilities forward. This position is perfect for a seasoned professional who thrives in both hands-on and leadership roles. You will be instrumental in taking projects from the design phase through to completion, including troubleshooting and commissioning. Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Engineering: Create and review detailed CAD drawings, iDraw files, and PDFs. Utilize software tools like Revit for project design.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Projects range in size from $20,000 to $3 million.
- Customer Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver customized solutions. Maintain strong relationships with our diverse client base.
- Field Work: Assist with field installations, commissioning, and programming of systems. Ensure that systems are implemented according to design specifications.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff. Foster a team-oriented environment and support the professional growth of team members.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any design or technical issues that arise during project implementation. Collaborate with subcontractors and consultants to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical support and expertise in low-voltage cabling systems, Q-Sys systems, and AV principles. Knowledge of standard test equipment is essential.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems design and engineering, preferably within the AV or low-voltage industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD, Revit, iDraw, and other design tools. Strong understanding of AV principles and systems.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure. Experience with design-build and public bid projects is a plus.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team. Experience in transitioning from technical roles to managerial roles is desirable.
- Field Experience: Practical experience in system installation, commissioning, and programming.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with a mix of remote design work and on-site project management. Flexible work hours depending on project requirements.
