The Director of Development will act as the central contact for all activities related to advancing projects, including initial assessments, regulatory approvals, connectivity, incentives, construction management, and project completion. Core Functions:
- Oversee the development and execution of solar projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Work closely with internal teams to assess potential sites and perform due diligence, engaging and managing external consultants when needed.
- Assist in preparing and negotiating construction bids and terms of contracts.
- Take charge of project financials, including costs for permits, third-party consultants, and construction expenses.
- Direct and manage projects from initial planning stages through to pre-construction.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and consultants, throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget, maintaining financial value and profitability.
- Ensure top-level service to clients and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular progress meetings with contractors and co-developers.
- Monitor project risks and provide regular updates to clients.
- Present progress and key insights to senior management.
- Serve as the go-to expert on complex regulatory and policy matters related to solar and battery storage projects.
- Apply expertise in solar and battery storage to support project initiation, streamline processes, and explore new market opportunities.
- Develop a strong understanding of incentives, interconnection processes, and metering rules at both federal and state levels to strategically position the company within the industry.
Qualifications:
