Job Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the supervision and guidance of management, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering tasks related to the design of power and control systems for process gases, pressure regulation and measurement, cryogenics, and compressed gas handling systems. This role ensures adherence to technical standards and compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and company policies.
Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to:
- Assisting in the creation of Electrical One-Line Diagrams, Site Conduit Layouts, Grounding Plans, Hazardous Area Plans, Controls drawings, RTU drawings, Building Electrical Plans, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), piping and electrical conduit layouts, bills of materials, and general arrangement drawings.
- Conducting visual inspections of incoming materials to verify compliance with technical specifications.
- Providing technical assistance to senior engineers and designers during the preparation of project-specific deliverables, which includes:
- Reviewing equipment specifications, standards, drawings, and engineering calculations to ensure compliance with technical guidelines, company standards, and project requirements.
- Assessing vendor quotations, preparing technical evaluations, and advising the Project Manager and Procurement team based on technical merit, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Attending design review meetings with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Team, and Clients to discuss project scope, design expectations, and performance, and to address unexpected challenges.
- Offering technical guidance to shop and construction staff during manufacturing and construction phases.
- Facilitating the commissioning of newly installed facilities by coordinating the activities of multi-disciplinary commissioning teams.
- Supporting business development initiatives by contributing to project scopes and preliminary designs.
Electrical Engineer Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Proven experience in drafting and detailing 2D deliverable drawings.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve shared goals.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
Electrical Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 2-5+ years of experience in electrical system design within the utility or power industries.
- Expertise in using AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or equivalent CAD software.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a year (support for this process will be provided).
- Experience in Project Engineering or Project Management.
- In-depth understanding of design and construction codes and standards for natural gas and LNG facilities, including ASME B31.3 & B31.8, 49 CFR Parts 192 & 193, and NFPA 59A.
