Job Title: Energy Engineer (flexible)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide specialized technical support for program outreach and customer engagement initiatives.
- Conduct research and assess innovative strategies for energy efficiency, demand response, energy resiliency, and renewable energy.
- Create technical reports detailing project scope, energy savings calculation methods, M&V activities and results, key assumptions, and recommendations.
- Utilize analytical tools and M&V methodologies to evaluate system and equipment performance, offering recommendations for enhancements.
- Investigate codes, standards (C&S), emerging technologies, and demonstration projects.
- Perform site inspections to gather data and conduct functional testing to determine current equipment/system conditions.
- Develop customized measurement and verification (M&V) plans to substantiate energy savings claims.
- Install and uninstall meters and data collection equipment.
- Execute complex energy and financial analyses using appropriate software and hardware tools.
- Keep senior managers and project teams updated on project schedules and progress.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
We are seeking a candidate passionate about emerging technologies, skilled in deep research and data analysis, and able to communicate findings through comprehensive reports and presentations.
- At least 4 years of experience in energy engineering or emerging technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience in producing detailed reports of up to 30 pages.
- Background in the energy sector, including energy efficiency, distributed energy generation/combined heat and power, project economics/rate analysis, project design, renewable energy, HVAC, refrigeration, and central heating and cooling plants, is preferred.
- Practical experience and understanding of various systems in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to both small and large groups.
- Familiarity with measurement and verification techniques is preferred.
- Proficiency with various energy analysis tools and software, including advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Must have reliable transportation, as travel to customer sites is required.
