Our client has served as a pioneer in the construction of underground electric T&D systems for some of the largest utility companies in the northeast for over a decade. They are a full service, self preforming civil and utility contractor, and have completed over 60 miles of underground electrical lines across nine states.
They are seeking out an experienced Estimator to join their team and work out of their office in the Bronx. This role will focus on large utility projects such as underground transmission and distribution, substations, and underground gas & hydro projects. They work with some of the largest utilities in the state and have a massive backlog of work.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise to provide accurate cost estimates for construction projects across utilities, infrastructure, and commercial sectors
- Analyze project specifications, conduct quantity takeoffs, and source material and labor costs
- Ensure proposals align with client expectations, budgetary constraints, and quality standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive project bids
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of estimating experience on utility projects
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Proficiency in construction estimation software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or equivalent
- Ability to work out of office in the Bronx on a hybrid schedule
