Geotechnical Department Manager - Dallas, TX
Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Department Manager to lead the team based in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to their clients while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
Project Management: Manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, including reviewing design calculations, interpreting field data, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed their requirements.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, and promoting professional development opportunities.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of project deliverables, including thorough review of technical reports and documentation.
Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to health and safety protocols on project sites, promoting a culture of safety among team members and subcontractors.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding services with existing clients and cultivating relationships with potential clients in the Dallas area.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations, codes, and standards applicable to geotechnical engineering projects in Texas, ensuring compliance in all aspects of project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including significant experience in project management and team leadership roles.
Strong technical proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design, including slope stability analysis, foundation design, and soil mechanics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Proven track record of successful project delivery, with a focus on quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
Experience with geotechnical software packages and familiarity with industry-standard testing methods and equipment.
