Our client is an independent power producer (IPP), in search of a seasoned Interconnection Project Manager to enhance the company's growing utility-scale solar project portfolio. The ideal candidate will oversee projects throughout the interconnection process, ensuring successful navigation and execution of preconstruction and construction phases, including management of Collector substations and ISO's HV switchyards.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the integration process of interconnections for projects in preconstruction and construction phases.
* Collaborate with engineering teams, both internal and external, to develop project designs and specifications for utility-scale solar installations, focusing on interconnection facilities such as collector substations and high-voltage switchyards.
* Ensure compliance with interconnection process requirements and meet project milestones.
* Collaborate with authorities to resolve interface issues.
* Coordinate all metering scope requirements in accordance with regulatory standards.
* Project manage the engineering, procurement, and construction of ISO HV switchyards and collector substations.
* Collaborate with Transmission Operator to optimize substation costs.
* Lead negotiation and contract compliance for HV Switchyard EPC contracts.
* Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure safety and quality standards.
* Establish clear lines of accountability and interfaces with Interconnection Team and Project Delivery Team.
Requirements:
* BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
* Project Management Professional Certificate or License preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in Project Management in Energy or Electrical Distribution Development preferred.
* Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience.
* Experience in solar development or EPC company preferred.
* Experience with scheduling software platforms.
* Knowledge of PJM or MISO Tariffs and Manuals.
* Minimum of 10+ years of experience with high voltage installations.
Location: Houston, TX preferred with hybrid office policy. Periodic trips for meetings or site visits may be required. Alternative arrangements considered for exceptional candidates.
