We have a current opportunity for a Senior Substation Engineer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Tampa, Florida. Hybrid and/or full remote flexibility may be offered depending on the experience level of the applicant.
We are looking for a Lead Substation/P&C Engineer to support the substation engineering & design group. The Senior Substation/P&C Engineer should be able to coordinate with other engineers in a efficient manner. You will be responsible for leading substation engineering projects, specifically for medium and high-voltage substations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- P.E. License highly desired (EIT engineers also encouraged to apply)
- 5+ years of electric utility or consulting experience
- Working knowledge of substation design methods and power system protection
- Must be familiar with AutoCAD, and ideally have experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Relay settings and testing software knowledge preferred
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate design activities to maintain project schedules, budget, quality requirements to ensure successful project completion
- Create protective relay settings, protective system modeling software and system analysis
- Design electrical substation facilities including one lines, three lines, schematics and elementaries, wiring and interconnections, P&C calculations and reports
- Prepare specifications for material, equipment, and construction work
- Supports the technical and economic evaluation of substation design and P&C studies
- Provide construction support including resolving site queries, attending site meetings, and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects
