A global, leading IPP is looking to bring on a Lead Engineer, Transmission & Interconnection to join the team! This position will support the Transmission & Interconnection group, working on wind, solar, and battery storage projects across the US, with the ability to work fully remote and/or the option to go into any office location across the US (San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; Denver, CO, and more!)
The Lead Engineer, Transmission & Interconnection will be responsible for:
- Managing the interconnection process from initial application through large generator interconnection agreements
- Coordinating between internal and external stakeholders
- Performing and reviewing power flow studies and models
- Lead/guide a team of power systems/transmission planning engineers and provide guidance for junior engineers performing modeling/analysis
The Lead Engineer, Transmission & Interconnection should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2-10+ years of Transmission Planning/Interconnection experience
- Expertise in PSSE, TARA, PSLF, PSCAD, PowerWorld, etc.
- Experience working in and managing interconnection processes in one or more ISO/RTO (ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, CAISO, or WECC)
