Job Description:
Reporting to the Managing Director of Business Development, the Clean Energy Acquisition Analyst plays a pivotal role in evaluating, negotiating, and executing utility-scale clean energy acquisition opportunities. This role is instrumental in providing strategic insights, structuring deals, and supporting pricing strategies for development and power marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct valuation, due diligence, and financial modeling for potential acquisition opportunities, with a specific focus on discounted cash flow models.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess market dynamics, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks.
- Support negotiations and contract execution for clean energy projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets.
- Provide strategic input on market strategy, project structuring, and pricing considerations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders.
- Prepare and present analytical findings, recommendations, and insights to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Manage multiple projects and work streams simultaneously, setting priorities and exercising independent judgment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking simple and efficient solutions to complex challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, economics, or engineering required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in M&A, finance, or development roles within the U.S. solar, wind, or energy storage sector.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, with advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues and present findings effectively.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Desire for professional growth and development within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree, CFA, or ongoing education in related fields.
- Experience with VBA or other programming languages.
- Passion for renewable energy and sustainable development.
