The Structural Engineering division tackles a wide variety of exciting projects, including evaluations, new designs, upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations of marine structures. From pile-supported wharves and piers to breasting/mooring dolphins, bulkheads, and yard areas, we serve container terminals, bulk handling facilities, and fuel transfer hubs.
The firm is looking for a talented professional with a strong technical background and a hands-on project delivery mindset to develop creative solutions and deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of skilled marine designers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead designs, inspections, evaluations, and analyses for marine, waterfront, and port structures.
- Review calculations for structural concrete, prestressed concrete, and steel elements in high-seismicity and hurricane-prone regions.
- Collaborate with principal-in-charge, senior project managers, and junior staff to plan and execute projects.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project partners.
- Serve as a project manager for select projects, overseeing budgets, schedules, and staffing.
- Develop construction drawings, structural calculation packages, and technical specifications.
- Provide construction administration and field observation services, including international travel.
- Mentor and manage junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
- Support proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Engage in professional activities to enhance industry recognition.
What You'll Need:
- M.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 9+ years of experience in structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures.
- Familiarity with ASCE 61 and PIANC Seismic Design of Port Structures Guidelines (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the U.S. or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (Spanish proficiency is a plus).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, client meetings, and business development (including international travel).
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
