We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Environmental Engineer with proven expertise in environmental engineering and a strong background in business development. This candidate will be joining the team at a dynamic, employee-owned environmental consulting firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading our environmental engineering projects, cultivating client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities in the Seattle area.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Provide technical expertise in environmental engineering, including site assessments, remediation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to expand our client base and revenue streams in the Seattle market.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Lead proposal development efforts, including preparing technical proposals, project budgets, and presentations for client meetings.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to inform business strategies and project approaches.
- Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development within the firm.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Washington, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on site assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record of successful business development in the environmental consulting industry, with established relationships in the Seattle market.
- Strong technical expertise in environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and state-specific requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to lead project teams, mentor staff, and drive business growth initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
