This role is pivotal in the Technology and Engineering Department, leading the definition phase for capital and expense projects in the Solvent business unit at Houston and Bayport sites. Responsibilities include project development from conceptual to FEL stages, overseeing Process Design Engineers and DCS engineers, and collaborating with Technology/Engineering Manager and site Leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects.
- Drive projects to IFD status, applying Scope optimization, Fit-For-Purpose approach, and Risk-Based decision making.
- Contribute to capital project work process development and implementation.
- Support Project Execution team with cost estimates and execution strategy.
- Support Process Tech/Engineering Manager with content development and Design Practices.
Experience/Required Skills:
- 15+ years of process design experience with leadership skills.
- Proficiency in simulation tools like ChemCAD, Aspen, HTRI.
- Experience with Batch Reactor processes and plant Dynamic behavior.
- Strong knowledge of major units of operation and equipment selection/design.
- Ability to analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot process issues.
- Moderate to strong knowledge of Process Control and utility systems.
- Familiarity with codes and standards such as ASME, API, NFPA.
