Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans outlining key milestones, time lines, and resource requirements.
- Formulate a clear project strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
Site Identification and Assessment:
- Lead the identification and evaluation of potential sites for utility-scale solar projects.
- Conduct thorough site assessments, considering technical, environmental, and economic factors.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Navigate and manage the permitting process at local, state, and federal levels.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, zoning laws, and other relevant standards.
Interconnection Management:
- Collaborate with utility companies to secure interconnection agreements.
- Oversee the interconnection process to ensure seamless integration with the grid.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate positive relationships with local communities, landowners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Address community concerns, communicate project benefits, and ensure project acceptance.
Financial Analysis and Budgeting:
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess project viability and profitability.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
Project Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient project execution.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and other project partners.
- Ensure favourable terms and conditions in contracts related to project development, construction, and operation.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with project development.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce quality assurance standards for project components and construction.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations throughout the project life cycle.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on project sites.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team.
Project Closeout:
- Ensure a smooth transition from project completion to operations.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and document lessons learned for future projects.
Community Relations:
- Act as a liaison between the project and local communities, addressing concerns and fostering positive relations.
- Implement community engagement initiatives to create a positive project legacy.
