Job Summary:
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join their team as a Project Manager / Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a variety of surveying projects, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and delivering high-quality results to their clients. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, while also providing technical expertise and leadership to the surveying team.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of land surveying projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
Survey Operations:
- Conduct and oversee field surveys, including topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking.
- Utilize advanced surveying instruments and software to gather and analyze data.
- Ensure the accuracy and precision of survey data and deliverables.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with Texas state laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation to state and local authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in surveying laws and standards.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
- Communicate project progress, address client concerns, and provide expert advice.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of surveyors and technicians.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of surveying practice.
- Review and approve survey deliverables before submission to clients.
- Conduct regular audits of field and office work to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with advancements in surveying technology and methodologies.
- Implement new technologies and practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members on complex surveying issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: Active Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
- Skills:
- Proficient in using surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and GIS software.
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, methods, and legal requirements.
