Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop a thorough understanding of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) regulations and ensure the company's operations comply with all relevant rules and requirements.
- Policy Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in energy policies, regulations, and industry standards that impact demand-response and renewable energy sectors.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation to demonstrate compliance with METI regulations. Ensure timely submission of required reports and filings.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advocate for the company's interests and stay informed about regulatory developments.
- Internal Training: Educate and train internal teams on regulatory requirements and best practices to ensure company-wide compliance.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the leadership team to integrate regulatory considerations into business strategies and operational plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Relevant Bachelor's degree. Advanced degrees or certifications in regulatory affairs are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the energy sector. Experience with METI regulations is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of Japanese regulatory frameworks, particularly those related to energy and demand-response.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in both Japanese and English.
