Key Responsibilities:
- Lead wildlife surveys, assessments, and monitoring programs to evaluate the status and trends of wildlife populations.
- Design and implement habitat restoration and conservation projects to enhance biodiversity and promote ecosystem health.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation measures to minimize adverse effects on wildlife and their habitats.
- Provide expert guidance and support to project teams, clients, and stakeholders on wildlife-related matters, including regulatory compliance and best management practices.
- Manage complex wildlife research projects, including study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate wildlife considerations into land use planning, infrastructure development, and conservation initiatives.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in wildlife biology, with a focus on species conservation, habitat management, and environmental consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of wildlife ecology, population dynamics, and habitat requirements for a variety of species.
- Experience writing sections of NEPA/CEQA
- Proven experience in designing and implementing wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and monitoring programs.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis and GIS software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience managing projects, mentoring staff, and collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies.
