We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to serve as the Senior Restoration Project Manager at an exciting and growing environmental firm. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of ecological restoration projects, from planning and design to implementation and monitoring. With your expertise in restoration ecology and engineering, you will develop innovative solutions to address environmental challenges and achieve project objectives. Your leadership and technical proficiency will be instrumental in guiding project teams, managing resources, and ensuring the successful completion of restoration initiatives. You will also have the ability to grow a team across the US.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of ecological restoration projects, including riparian restoration, wetland creation, streambank stabilization, and habitat enhancement.
- Conduct site assessments, ecological surveys, and hydrologic analyses to inform restoration plans and identify project constraints and opportunities.
- Develop restoration designs and specifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best management practices.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to obtain permits, approvals, and funding for restoration projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including restoration ecologists, engineers, contractors, and field staff.
- Oversee construction activities, quality assurance, and compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Conduct post-construction monitoring and adaptive management to evaluate project success, address challenges, and refine restoration strategies as needed.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and research in ecological restoration and incorporate them into project designs and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, ecology, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity.
- Certification in Rosgen Level I-IV training or equivalent stream restoration training.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in ecological restoration, environmental engineering, or related field, with a focus on project management and design.
- Strong understanding of California's environmental regulations, permitting processes, and restoration guidelines.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and other design and analysis software commonly used in restoration planning and design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple locations.
