Position Overview: They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President (Architectural) to lead their architectural division. As a key member of their executive team, the Senior Vice President will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of our architectural practice, fostering innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of design excellence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Provide visionary leadership to the architectural division, setting strategic goals and objectives in alignment with the company's overall mission and objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm's architectural services, identify growth opportunities, and maximize market presence.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence within the architectural team, inspiring innovation and continuous improvement.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, developers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights, design solutions, and value-added services to meet their goals and objectives.
- Ensure exceptional client satisfaction by delivering high-quality architectural services, on-time project delivery, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Oversight and Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with design guidelines and client expectations.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, address any issues or challenges, and maintain quality control throughout the construction phase.
Team Management and Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a talented team of architects, designers, and support staff, fostering their professional growth and career advancement.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to team members, empowering them to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the architectural division.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity within the team, celebrating individual achievements and fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
Financial Management and Business Development:
- Oversee the financial performance of the architectural division, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue generation, to achieve profitable growth and financial sustainability.
- Identify new business opportunities, pursue strategic partnerships, and participate in business development activities to expand the firm's client base and market share.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders and departments to leverage cross-selling opportunities and integrated service offerings to enhance the firm's competitive position and overall profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field; professional license or certification preferred.
- Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the architectural or building services industry, with at least 10+ years of progressive experience.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and demonstrated ability to drive organizational growth and profitability.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance and results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Deep knowledge of architectural principles, design standards, building codes, and regulations, with a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver superior quality work under pressure.
