The Solar Development Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing utility-scale solar projects in Taiwan, specifically in the Taipei area. This position requires a deep understanding of solar project development, permitting processes, and regulations in Taiwan. The Solar Development Manager will be responsible for driving the entire life-cycle of solar projects, from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as optimizing project efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop utility-scale solar projects in Taipei and surrounding areas.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource analysis for potential project sites.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and optimize solar energy systems tailored to local conditions.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Navigate the complex permitting process in Taiwan, ensuring all necessary approvals and licenses are obtained.
- Stay up-to-date with local regulations, environmental requirements, and grid connection procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, utilities, and local communities to address concerns and facilitate project approvals.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to negotiate land leases, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and other contractual agreements.
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee construction activities, quality control, and commissioning processes.
- Implement best practices for project management and risk mitigation.
Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives:
- Implement environmental best practices and sustainability initiatives in solar project development.
- Work towards integrating innovative technologies and practices to enhance the environmental performance of solar projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Several years of experience in utility-scale solar project development in Taiwan.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulations, permitting processes, and environmental requirements related to solar energy projects.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
