Job Description: As a Solar Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of solar projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for managing both the technical and commercial aspects of solar site development, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Solar Site Management:
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of solar site development, including site selection, permitting, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
- Implement effective project management methodologies to optimize project delivery.
Commercial Management:
- Communicate and negotiate with subcontractors, landowners, municipal authorities, and other stakeholders to secure project approvals, land leases, and necessary permits.
- Manage project budgets, contracts, and procurement activities to maximize cost-efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor project finances, cash flow, and expenses to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
Contract Management:
- Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of project contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
- Facilitate contract negotiations, resolve disputes, and manage change orders in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, community groups, and local residents.
- Represent the company at public hearings, community meetings, and industry events to promote project awareness and garner support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the solar industry, with a proven track record of managing solar projects of varying scales.
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems, project development processes, and regulatory requirements in Australia.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PMP or relevant project management certification preferred.
