Overview: As an Offshore Solar Project Manager based in Singapore, you will lead the planning, execution, and completion of solar projects situated offshore, with a focus on installations on vessels or floating platforms. This role demands a blend of project management proficiency, technical expertise in solar energy systems, and familiarity with offshore operations. You will collaborate closely with diverse teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards, while meeting stringent quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive project plans encompassing scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budget estimates.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, and maritime authorities, to align on project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and site surveys to evaluate the viability of offshore locations for solar installations in Singaporean waters.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical leadership in solar energy systems, encompassing PV panel technology, mounting structures, electrical components, and integration with offshore infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to devise optimized solar solutions tailored for Singaporean offshore conditions, considering factors such as tidal patterns, wave dynamics, and environmental considerations.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify potential risks and devise mitigation strategies to uphold the safety and integrity of offshore solar installations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, maritime laws, and environmental regulations governing offshore energy projects in Singapore.
- Implement stringent quality assurance measures to uphold project standards and regulatory compliance.
Resource Management:
- Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project objectives and schedules.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative work environment conducive to achieving project goals.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders, delivering regular updates on project progress, milestones, and critical decisions.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across internal teams and external partners to address challenges and ensure alignment on project objectives.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring expenditures and optimizing costs while upholding project quality and safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements to enhance project outcomes and financial performance.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, ensuring adherence to HSE protocols and regulations to safeguard personnel and minimize ecological impact.
- Implement robust environmental management practices to mitigate the environmental footprint of offshore solar projects in Singaporean waters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, project management, or a related field. Advanced qualifications or certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are advantageous.
- Proven track record in project management, particularly in the renewable energy sector, with experience in offshore projects preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of solar energy systems and their application in offshore environments, with familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
