The Solar Services Project Manager will lead projects in a dynamic and customer-focused manner, ensuring adherence to core values such as safety, client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, and outstanding service. This role requires fostering a culture of proactive communication, continuous improvement, and customer growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in design, construction, commissioning, diagnosis, testing, and troubleshooting of renewable energy projects, including engineered equipment and balance of plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead proposal efforts for renewable energy engineering services, including solar and energy storage projects.
Develop project scope, schedule, and budget; negotiate refinements with clients upon project award.
Coordinate with permitting authorities, customers, and design leads to ensure compliance with project standards.
Manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to complete required tasks efficiently.
Set and maintain project schedules and budgets, including managing change orders as necessary.
Project Management & Execution:
Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the technical team.
Oversee the development of site plans, racking plans, building plans, one-line diagrams, BOP plans, and other required engineering documents.
Manage the bidder selection process, request proposals, analyze bid tabulations, and evaluate total installed costs.
Provide detailed project information and bill of materials to estimating teams.
Implement software tools and best practices to enhance conceptual design and estimating efficiencies.
Industry Knowledge & Business Development:
Stay updated on emerging solar technologies, including pricing and commercial considerations.
Participate in industry conferences and contribute to publications, including developing white papers and presentations.
Conduct project status meetings with clients and key stakeholders.
Travel to client offices, project sites, supplier facilities, and industry events as required.
Support business growth by fostering relationships and expanding the customer base.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, or mechanical preferred) or related field.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years managing engineering projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to learn and apply new technologies in the dynamic renewable energy market.
