Construction Superintendent - Solar
Location: Orlando, FL (with significant travel to project sites)
About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Construction Superintendent with a strong Electrical background to oversee the execution of innovative floating solar projects. This role involves managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring quality installations, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of solar construction, a passion for renewable energy, and proven leadership skills to guide project teams toward successful, on-time completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of floating solar construction sites, ensuring smooth execution of work according to plans and specifications.
- Lead teams of subcontractors and on-site crews, providing direction and support to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Coordinate scheduling, material procurement, and logistics to ensure consistent and timely progress.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards, while troubleshooting and resolving any technical challenges.
- Maintain precise documentation of construction activities, including reports on progress, safety, and compliance.
- Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and holding regular site safety meetings.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, clients, engineers, and team members, to ensure alignment and timely updates.
- Ensure environmental compliance by overseeing all aspects of project execution and adherence to site-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Hands-on experience with floating solar systems, or prior experience in water-based construction, is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, including installation, electrical systems, and structural components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, technical schematics, and specifications.
- Deep understanding of industry safety standards, including OSHA, NEC, and environmental compliance regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and lead teams toward successful project outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills, with experience using construction management software and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively to job sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with marine anchoring systems and floating solar infrastructure.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, NABCEP, or PMP.
- Background in electrical contracting or civil construction.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
