We have a current opportunity for a Structural Engineer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Boston MA.
Summary:
Engage in the comprehensive development of structural designs, details, and drawings, encompassing both new construction and renovation projects. Proficiently create drawings using BIM software like REVIT, as well as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Employ Microsoft Excel and Mathcad Prime for structural calculations, and leverage expertise in analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, RAM Structural System, ETABS, SAFE, and SAP2000. Conduct on-site inspections of building structural systems and collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines and architects. Operate in a paperless or limited-use office setting, with the ability to work remotely as needed. Demonstrate responsible and ethical decision-making in managing company resources, aligning with the Code of Conduct. Undertake additional responsibilities as dictated by business requirements.
Projects encompass a range of building types (administration buildings, tolling structures, parking structures, , maintenance facilities), educational buildings, resiliency-related studies and design, parks, and recreation centers.
Growth opportunities include advancement to the senior structural engineer level, contribution to proposal development, involvement in design-build projects with direct client interaction, and participation in high-profile projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering.
- Accumulate 3 to 5 years of pertinent post-education experience in an engineering discipline, specifically with prior structural design involvement in building projects.
- Hold an Engineer in Training Certification, with the capability to secure a PE license within 1 year.
- Demonstrate proficiency in developing structural engineering calculations, creating structural analysis models, and generating detailed contract drawings.
- Have knowledge of state and city building codes, along with familiarity with industry standard specifications such as IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360, and others.
- Exhibit an understanding of construction documents.
