Responsibilities:
- Technical Planning and Execution: Lead the technical planning and execution of live events, including audio, lighting, video, and staging elements.
- Equipment Management: Manage the inventory, maintenance, and deployment of audiovisual equipment and technology for events.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor technical staff, including audio engineers, lighting technicians, video operators, and stagehands, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality production.
- Collaboration: Work closely with event producers, creative directors, and clients to understand their vision and technical requirements, and translate them into actionable plans.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to source equipment, services, and technical expertise as needed for events.
- Onsite Management: Oversee onsite technical operations during events, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring the seamless execution of the production.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for technical operations and equipment usage.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with the production team to develop and manage technical budgets for events, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in audiovisual technology, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance event production quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Production, Theatre, Audio Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical production for live events, with a proven track record of successful execution.
- Strong knowledge of audio, lighting, video, and staging equipment, as well as industry-standard software and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proven ability to manage technical teams and vendors, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with budget management and cost control for technical operations.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
